Teaching and Training

In Fall 2024 Dr. Norris will host the MICR 690 Seminar. This course is mandatory for microbiology graduate students. It gives them the opportunity to share their work with peers and hone vital presentation skills. 

Also in the Fall of 2024, Dr. Norris will teach MICR 685 Molecular and Cellular Bacterial (mostly) Pathogenesis. This course covers examples of molecular mechanisms used by pathogens to establish infections and kill the cell, ultimately causing disease. The course will mainly focus on bacterial pathogens and their virulence factors, though viruses will also be discussed.

Dr. Michael Norris is teaching MICR463 Microbiology of Pathogens and the associated laboratory MICR 463L sections in the Spring 2025 semesters. He is also instructor for the MICR 695 Research Literature Review.

Graduate students are receiving training in molecular and microbiological techniques among many more.
